Milliner Hat Making Class | Houston
May 29, 2019|11-2pm|$110
Thompson + Hanson Ivy House is thrilled to welcome Texas milliners Laura Del Villaggio and Susan Prado for an afternoon of hat-making in the beautiful Ivy Room at Tiny's No.5.
Students will each choose a Panama straw (Toquillo palm) hat to suit their style and size and then learn how to decorate it under the tutelage of professional milliners. There will be a choice of colors for the grosgrain ribbon hatband, which will be measured, curved and then sewn on by hand. Most of the class time will be devoted to working with plumage feathers, as each student will create a special feather and bead applique to complete the hat design.
Students will leave with a unique ready-to-wear hat that will be a go-to accessory for sunny days in the city or on the beach. All skill levels welcome!
