Join us at Thompson + Hanson for an immersive introduction to Ebru, the centuries-old art of Turkish paper marbling, led by artist Shaheen Rahman.

Rooted in a rich artistic tradition that traveled along the Silk Road, ebru is a meditative process in which pigments are carefully floated across the surface of water and shaped into intricate, one-of-a-kind patterns before being transferred onto paper. During this intimate workshop, Shaheen will share the history and cultural significance of ebru before demonstrating traditional marbling techniques using authentic materials. Guests will then have the opportunity to create their own designs, with personalized guidance from Shaheen throughout the process.

All materials will be provided and each guest will leave with multiple original marbled artworks of their own. No prior experience is necessary. This workshop is intentionally limited to a small group to create a personal, hands-on experience. We hope to see you there!
